Watchmen's sixth episode mostly takes place in the past, and while that lack of forward movement can sometimes stifle shows, it occasionally provides something brilliant. Such is the experience of This Extraordinary Being. Up to this point, Angela Abar has rejected her past, her legacy. But now, she is getting a full dose of it, reliving the memories of her grandfather.

What Angela learns is not just that her grandfather was the first hooded vigilante, but also the difficulties and hardships that he faced. She learns  about the anger that lies beneath each injustice that he faced, and the mistakes he made.

In this Nerd Flix & Chill podcast, we discuss this terrific episode and the awareness it raises and its ongoing cultural relevance.
