Mulan has finally been released on Disney+ after months of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While it is a film that has some flaws, it nevertheless tells an important story that will resonate with many. It is a film that speaks to those who have had to hide their passion, talent and power in order to adhere to social and cultural expectations. This is a story of one who defies those expectations and forges a new path.
